JUST over a week is left until the NFL trade deadline is upon us, so obviously, rumour mills are kicking into overdrive. Some teams are clearly in rebuild mode, eager to flip players for picks while contending squads are chasing that guy who could help put their team over the edge. Last year we saw names like Jay Ajayi and Jimmy Garoppolo moved and we could see some big fish switching uniforms once again.

Larry Fitzgerald to the New England Patriots
IT’S not fair that someone of Larry Fitzgerald’s stature is wasting the final years of his career. Buried on the 1–6 Cardinals the future HOFer is obviously on his last legs, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still make a meaningful contribution. Landing in New England makes sense for both sides and gives Fitz a real chance at winning his first Super Bowl in season 15, perhaps even giving him the perfect sendoff. Don’t be surprised if Yoda aka Bill Belichick has been using his Jedi mind tricks to orchestrate a trade like this all along to boost his receiving core.
Adam Vinatieri to the Los Angeles Chargers
L.A. might have second thoughts about trading for a reliable kicker after Mike Badgley’s last fortnight. The rookie replaced Caleb Sturgis ahead of Week 6 against the Browns and has been perfect from the field (3/3) and PAT’s (7/7) so far. However, I don’t have faith in a first-year kicker delivering when the pressure mounts, especially in the postseason. Sitting at 5–2 on the back of a four-game winning streak trading for the greatest kicker in the game would vault the Chargers into serious contention.
DeVante Parker to the Cleveland Browns
DON’T rule out the Cleveland Browns making some noise still in a tight AFC North, even though they sit at 2–4–1. Having played in four overtime games already this year, the Browns record could be very different, especially if their receivers weren’t continually dropping balls. With a dozen dropped passes already this season, securing DeVante Parker bolsters their receiving room and gives the former Dolphin a chance to start afresh alongside his former teammate in Jarvis Landry.

Tyrod Taylor to the Jacksonville Jaguars
I had this one written down even before Blake Bortles found his way to the bench on Sunday. You know that you are in trouble when Cody Kessler comes in and looks decent and Jacksonville fans got a brief insight into what their offense could look like as long as Bortles isn’t running the show. Even though the Jaguars are tied to Bortles for the foreseeable future, there’s no reason why Tyrod Taylor (who is underappreciated in my opinion) can’t stop the bleeding this season and help salvage something from 2018.
Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys
OF all the trades on this list, Amari Cooper to the Cowboys makes the most sense. After shocking the world and trading away Khalil Mack, Oakland seems to be ready to sell everyone with Cooper possibly the best name being floated on the trade block. With Dak Prescott struggling Dallas is crying out for a №1 receiver to revive their stale offense and keep their playoff hopes alive.
Karl Joseph to the Atlanta Falcons
ATLANTA’S secondary has been ravaged by injury so far this year. A boost at the safety position is urgent for the Falcons who have already lost Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen for the rest of 2018 and Karl Joseph can fill that gap. After falling out of favour with Jon Gruden, the Raiders firesale could see Joseph find a new home as well. The former first-rounder can still contribute and his contractual scenario allows Atlanta to play him in the second half of the season before deciding whether he is worth holding on to for the future. Win-win.
Le’Veon Bell to the Philadelphia Eagles
THERE is no way the damage can be undone in Pittsburgh with Le’Veon Bell all but certain to walk away from the franchise in lieu of a bigger paycheck once the offseason rolls around. So why prolong the inevitable breakup by keeping Bell? One of the most versatile, talented playmakers in the league, Bell could be THE difference for a team who has championship aspirations and the Eagles almost make too much sense. Some other teams have been linked to Bell, but with Jay Ajayi going down for the year, Philadelphia could give Bell the short term money he wants and he might just help them repeat as champs.
